This is my eldest daughter (6) with a bluegill she caught on August 6th, 2009, from the fishing float at Lake Poway, in Poway, California. I didn't measure it, but my Mark I Eyeball says 7 inches. It's her personal best, and she caught it with no assistance from me except to net the fish. This fish was apparently a pretty good bait stealer: its stomach was so large it looked like a huge egg sack :)
