I'm guessing that the high majority of these fish are either side of the ten-inch mark, with frequent enough fish over 11 to make any trip a bonafide trophy quest. That 1 3/4 lb 11 incher and the 12 incher that was recently posted are clearly lifetime catches for many anglers. It's the rotund body dynamics and relative weights that put Perris and other SoCal waters a step above in the bluegill department.
Since most of my bluegill fishing is in water 8 feet or shallower, I could easily see me struggling in those deep, clear waters of the west. One day, I'm gonna take a long, long road trip!
Don't disagree Jeff but in LP this fish can easily get even larger..............so many monsters form SoCal......I make comparisons to the largemouth bass fishing out there when I discuss these gills locally...........these coppers have really done well in that environment......very refreshing to see......and no doubt on the LP Bluegill whisperer.....I love it!
"Trophy class fish one day"..? Jeffrey in most waters, this fish already is! I can't believe the fish LedHed is nailing in November! But I guess it is Southern California, and he is the "Bluegill Man" at Lake Perris! Beautiful fish bro.
NIce fish there Led Hed !!!!!
Perfect coppernose! Love it!
dang!
Love the dynamics...this fish looks like it will be a trophy class fish one day!
Sonny your the man the fish whisperer. Congrats on a quality fish.
