Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

These fish have worn out my jig stash. Seems like I'm playing catch up all the time now. Haven't tyed this much in a very long time. This pattern is responsible for a lot of BIG CNBGs being caught.

thnx tracy - this style jig weighs ~ 1/48th oz. - using a #6 EC hook.

Allen - is it junglejim? He does great work with duck feathers - dyes his own.

Huge fan of the duck feathers John - still like marabou - but these handle the abuse a lot better.

Having a blast with the blades dick.

Sometime the spinner can make all the difference.

One of the members on the Jigcraft site does Flash Duck jigs; I think that's about all he fishes.  Basic paint job on the head, some duck flank feather fibers, a little krystal flash, and a little flashabou.  Red thread.  Very quick, easy, and cheap to tie.

I've done some, and yes, they do catch!

Not sure Allen about flash duck - originally tyed this pattern with marabou for the tailing. The smaller fish would shred it, decided to try the duck feathers and they seem to take the abuse better. The CNBGs, out here, like it too.

I'm using 4 colors (powder paint) on some of the Chubs.

LedHed, are those "Flash Ducks" done as a belly spinner on a chub-head? Sweet idea!
