Jeffrey- that's a good possibility. If that's the case for this fish, I'd sure like to catch it again in a few years when it's weight catches up with its length. I released it and it should become a big fish

I believe our local Redears go through a juvenile period in which they jump out in length quickly and then eat their way into that length.....just an opinion.....I often see long and relatively skinny Redears in the same location as the chunkier fish.....
