Ken...yes, that is the redworm in the gills mouth on a # 8 Aberdeen wire hook.

I usually get 4-5 gills per worm piece, sometimes fewer.

I like shrimp.  2 dollar bag of cooked popcorn shrimp. I cut them up to 2 or 3 peices, and tip my 1/32 oz jig with a curly tail grub.  They work just as good as crappie nibbles, and are cheaper

ran out of worms the other day... dipped into the backup of gulp maggots and redworms and picked up where i left off.

is that the redworm in that gills mouth.

the only trouble im having with the redworms is its usually a one fish bait for me. maggots i may catch up to maybe 4 or five on one.

Tony I can see jigging them around like that.
Insteadoif a rubbery tail soft plastic, you have a rubbery tail soft plastic with SCENT.
And I say that in all earnestness - it has to be a plus.

I love the 1" Gulp! minnows. I use them on a plain 1/64oz jighead, no added attraction......not even a painted jighead. They work great for me, but just like any other bait there are times and places where they will produce better, or worse.

What I've noticed is that Gulp works good in some waters, and not so good in others. And this can literally be from one lake to the next, 5 miles apart.

I rely on Gulp products when live worms are hard to come by ( mid summer or winter) or the 1 in minnows when mid winter bait is difficult to handle in the cold. Almost always as a tipping agent. I like to keep some handy for a back-up.

Never had much luck with Gulp!, although Ive never really understood the bait.

But you guys that score with it make it look easy.
