Handmade Balsa Popper to match a Cricket
Turns out the homemade popper pictured doesn't necessarily match the brown of a Live Cricket but it's been working...Crappie, Bass, Bluegill, Shellcracker and Warmouth to name a few species that are hitting this bug...Chartreuse Bitsy Minnow is added for size reference......

The popping bug pictured here will be the popper of choice this month.....my dad has a hard time going away from our homemade "cricket" flies......I love the action of the really long legs that provide the action of a real cricket swimming....If the fish were piled up that have been taken on this bug.....you wouldn't believe it!

Appreciate it Leo....my dad has always insisted on the two long legs....the true test is when a bait gets fished and these bugs have been deadly...That's what really matters when the rubber hits the road.....or in this case the bug hits the water!
