Do you love big bluegill?
We had high skies this afternoon so I went and fished from the bank for a little while.....These 8 to 9 inch gills are a blast on the telescopic........These fish were liking the slow sinking presentation......

Sound like they were a little finicky, Nice job Jeffrey
nice fish ,it is fun when you use the tele pole, went last tuesday and used fisher choice crickets ,and they would not bite them switched to gulp 1" white minnow and had a blast.
Wow, a bowfin! You know I love it. The braid I mentioned is 10 lb test, with the diameter of 4 lb mono. I think I may just go all braid after this!
I hear you friend.....I have seen this type of approach with the leader......I would lean that direction in clear water but I fish such black water the heavy mono hasn't hurt me....Although I had what appeared to be an eight pound Bowfin on a telescopic pole last season and a few minutes into the fight I was wishing I had some lighter line on so he could make a more graceful departure....He ended up wrapping me up on some Cypress Knees and I couldn't do a thing about it!
In heavy cover (which is mostly everywhere I fish, these days) I use some light braid I have left over. I add a 2lb leader to this and use the lightest wire hooks I can find.
Testing the floats in your pool - man, what a life! If I had your money, I'd burn mine!
I caught these fish on my Telescopic Rig David so I have heavy cover line with a number four long shank hook....No Lunker Loogie this time just my old reliable live cricket!
Hook size? Line weight?
Were you using Leo's 'Lunker Loogie?'
Live Cricket with no weight attached to the line....these fish were taking on the fall today....
What was sinking, slowly?
