Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This one took a worm...11 1/2 inches. Note the 'helmet', large gillflap and totally orange pectoral fins and dark breast. I think it to be a male BG/GSF hybrid. What a fish!

William I caught this fish in a 2 acre pond about 30 minutes from my home right after work, which was a 5 minute run. Pond is in north central MD.

What a fish Jim, that's well over a pound and a half. The breast portion is very well developed too, I've never caught one here in Indiana with such distinct coloring on the fins.

Thanks, guys! I am thinking this one is an easy 1 1/2 lber, maybe pushin 1-12. But I didn't weigh him so it's just a guess. As you can see from the size of the fish to my hand, there was no way I could have possibly grasped the fish. Would have liked to taken more pics of him, but I wanted to get him back in the water.
