Sally Hansen Hard as Nails 99cents at the dollar store. Great stuff.
Fuzzy is dead on. But, to thin the lacquer I use Berrymans "B-12 Chemtool." It's sold in the auto section as a fuel system cleaner and additive. It is a lethal mix of acetone, toluene, MEK and God knows what else - and it works great for thinning nail polish.
It's about $3.50/pint and will last a long time. But keep the window open when using it, or it may last longer than you.
Trust me. It's cheap, and it works!
thanks fuzzy I might have to try that
Head cement!!!
Go forth unto the wasteland of Wal-mart, and in the forbidden territory of the Cosmetic Aisles, find the holy grail, Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails. It's like a buck and a half......
When you get home, you'll want to trim the brush. I cut off probably half, maybe two-thirds, of the bristles. It may look like a piddly-little brush, but it's perfect for tiny flies.
You'll probably want to thin the nail polish down a bit. I've tried the cheap acetone you can also get in the Forbidden Territory, but it will make the polish cloudy, as it attracts water. Go to a hardware store and get a small can of a good-quality solvent. I think I've got a wood putty solvent, a mix of acetone and ethyl-methyl ketone.
James maybe that's more than I need to know. Oh by the way nice fly buddy.
that's my kids bottle dick and the cherry rc is just good stuff buddy especially when it has something added to it
