this is to cool Keith !!  I had thought; when we fished at reelfoot ; you might see the light and try a fly rod !!  be careful;; fly rodding is highly addictive !!  then comes the bottomless pit of fly tying !!  excelent catch to Keith!

Thanks Tink, I noticed when I was making goose quill floats that part of the quill was not hollow but had a foam like core. I cut off a chunk and glued it to a hook, added eyes and a mallard tail feather. I will have to learn to make them the proper way now.
