So tell us about these ponds Donald. We know they're private, but what other factors are in play that would account for numbers of large fish??

Supplemental feeding?

Hands on management strategy?

Catch and release only for those brute bluegills?

A thriving population of predators....largemouth bass for example?

Why are they getting so large?????

Thanks Carl, believe it of not, I have caught a couple that were bigger than this one (last year). I believe a 3 lb Copper-nose could be in one of those 4 ponds.  When hooked, these fish pull like a bus. I will get McScruff back down there again one day soon..........I think he really enjoyed today.

No, we weighed a smaller one early in the day that went 1 3/4 pounds, this one was a  bit bigger. I suspect it was a little over 2 lbs. A real "GillZilla"
