Jim you are full of hidden talents.
oh crap just saw i downloaded like 10 extra pics but the black one is in there some where.i tied these today by request of David
also tie on a standard size hook no bigger than twelve.i have tried many variations and the short fat small combo seems best keep the fly short and compact.it is not a wooly bugger or wooly worm
this is the fly i catch 80% of my gills and crappies on the fly rod not sure why it works every where i go and all seasons and the bigger gills like it more than the small ones,i have tied it in lots of colors but for me the brown and orange egg yarn black with red egg yarn and olive with yellow are the only ones i use.i use brass beads but tungsten will get it deeper,i hate sink tips.let it drop then slow strip the oversize hackle makes it weed resitent. # 12 hook 1/8 bead copper or gold are my choices.the tail is glowbug yarn.chenille or dubbing for the body and a an oversized dry fly hckle real thick i think is the key,i think it feels like a bug or small crab in their mouth.clip the tail short so it looks like a blob.deadly on the beds, too easy
that's cool! how about the recipe?
