No but that's a good idea Tony....you're right about that Dick....should be a feast with some fried soft shell crabs and a pot of boiled blue crabs too.....Looking forward to that!

Best wishes for an awesome Holiday Jeffrey......I hope you're not in the kitchen all weekend........do you at least have an apron with a BG on it??winking

Have a great holiday weekend Tony and maybe we'll get a few shots of some bruiser hybrids....that never gets old! We're going down to the family lake house on Santee Cooper in South Carolina's low country.....They want me to cook all weekend so we'll see.....I might cast a line in but above all it's a great family get together to celebrate an all American holiday.....Looking forward to it!

Yeah it's all good. And you're right about the satisfaction angle.....I have a hard time letting myself  have some fun time, as I feel like any work should come first. BUT, I'm taking a three day weekend over Memorial Day! First Saturday off since early Feb, and first weekday off since New Years Day.... I hope to get some fishing in, but I have made myself a pretty large list of projects/chores.....we'll see.

Nothing wrong with spring and summer......The gills' are definitely easier to locate and catch then, than they are in the winter!

Understand all and I have a lot of respect for your priorities and initiative Tony......your efforts are very evident when you profile your family and fish.......it certainly is alot of work as you mentioned....I can only hope you get satisfaction from all your hard work and past posts lead me to believe you do..... we will just have to agree to disagree on favorite seasons......give me spring and summer all year and I would be fine....LOL

I understand..I'm just simply too busy to fish much these days. I'm self employed, and spring is my busiest time. Combine 55-60 hr workweeks, mowing 4 acres of grass, stocking and feeding fish, cutting firewood for next winter, keeping the ponds healthy, (treating for algae, mowing the banks and brush, installing and maintaining aeration systems,). bush hogging the wilder areas, building a fish cleaning station, (in hopes I will actually get to use it sometime), and certainly spending time with the family, and my fishing suffers.

That's why I prefer winter! REST!!!!!!

That's a great lookin' bunch of fish. I know what you mean by feeling that need to fish every day. I can't imagine living on Toledo Bend. I wouldn't go to work if I did! :-)

Yeah Tony....I just want to be able to fish on days that end in "y"....that's all.......I still remember my grandfather saying everyday you fish is a "free day"....that stuck with me.....It was worse when I lived on Toledo Bend Reservoir....I would at least cast off our dock almost everyday....just in my blood....
