Yep, I lived that today. I caught a nice fat gar today; definitely not what I had expected when I left the shore.

David,aka,McScruff,in this body of water around 2 wks ago a Red bellied Pacu was caught(4 pounds & change)and he was given a body of water record.So,you're right theres no telling whats in the water.........

3rd spawn? Lotsa fish to catch...
I fish a large lake, Lake Murray, SC, with almost 60000 acres of surface area. All kinds of habitats and who knows how many different fishes.**
In such an expanse, almost anything is possible. I'm sure it was one of these.

** it's even rumored there is a "lake monster" in Murray. Jack Osborne aired an episode on it last year, where he and his paranormal team searched the lake for the creature.
As usual, they encountered "something," but chalked it up to a gargantuan catfish.

Well McScruff,this one here is a longear........in my opinion one of the more pretty sunnies in the sunfish family.I believe this is their 3rd spawn this yr.Which is normal,2 to 3 times a yr.

I caught one last weekend with this
coloring. Didn't know what it was.
Well... Still don't. But pretty!!
