Yep. On ultra light, they fight harder than bass three times their sizes in respect to the proper gears. We fish for 5 tilapia subspecies of the cichlid here in southern California, ranging between 0.5 to 4lbs average. Always love to see the ultralight and light rods bend and dance.

Yeah John,the first time i caught one i thought the exact same thing.......Leo,these guys put up nice fights,you'd have fun catching them.

Yes sir Jim thats a Rio......ive already accepted them as part of the family.If you target Sunnies,you will get into these guys as well & they get huge.Ken,the bait was a nightcrawler suspended under a float in about 3 ft of water.Carl,when you hook into one of these they automatically go sideways & put up a nice fight.Thanks Mark.....Jason if you were nearby we'd go catch us some Rios.  Thanks for the replies everyone.
