Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

A 2013 Gronaw Green Darner....1/32 ounce with a sickle hook

This bait was one of today's winners....Jim had put a spin on a few with the introduction of a sickle hook and it worked great....caught big bluegill, largemouth, and more than 30 Crappie up to 13".....I tipped with live minnows for the best results.......

The jig head itself came from our good friend LedHed out in So Cal. I just put a little spin on it and I'm glad it's a winner.

Credit, too, to LH!

I use it Allen. Makes good head too.

I've heard of some folks using Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails (fingernail polish) to paint jig heads.  A coat of color, a couple coats of clear, and you're done.

Love how Jim colorized that lead. One heck of an attraction aside from the overly attracting body as is. He sure knows how to turn the fish heads.

It'll get a chance on the yellow perch Vince....no doubt.....

Jim loves to fish and as for his baits.....a wonderful imagination as these baits evolved from color pictures of various grass shrimp with little tweeks here and there...I really loved the sickle hook today.....I believe it increased the hook set and was very solid once hooked.....

I'm NOT surprised that he has the time.  I'd be surprised if he isn't selling them on the side......

That's a real good looking jig. Simple, with plenty of room to tip it with a minnow. I bet the yellow perch would like this one too.

Jim has gotten good at them, I have noticed.
I'm surprised he finds the time.
