Abney on October 26, 2015 at 5:57pm: Indeed Carl.......they have the smallest range in America of any sunfish.......I never caught any in Louisiana growing up but when I arrived in South Carolina back in 1983 I began catching them in the tidal waters and swampy regions of the low country but never caught one down there over 8 inches.........When I began fishing the Albemarle in 1999 I took several trophy fliers right away and been hooked ever since......got several places that are known for quality fliers and often give them a try .....................
