Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

you know you have a sensitive setup when you catch 3" shiners near 20ft down on tiny tungsten micro jig tipped with a live waxie

If I read the Fishing Guide right, here in MI we're allowed three lines per person.  I'm thinking two tipups and a jigging rod?  Of course, you need a productive area for Pike.  I think I know one lake nearby that's known for Pike.

If you can't ID the fish on sonar, would it be better to drill a hole and drop a camera down?  Man, this is a money pit.....

Good luck on fishing!

Allen... bought one tip up a couple weeks ago... i figured why not let it sit while jigging.

i decided to  take a few small pike out of the system for harvest and ended up catching a couple under the mark pike and had to be released.

kinda fun ... but i prefer the hookset and fight on the rod and reel

Carl... im actually ice fishing areas of the lake that i have never ice fished before... a place i can easily walk too.

never see any locals ice fish but one guy... using tip ups.

the trip previous i was marking fish coming off the bottom in the deeper areas and they ended up being mid sized YP... i have no idea what they are on sonar until you catch one of them and identify it. so i continue fishing this new spot and im pulling the fish off the bottom but they dont hit... sniff the bait then leave. one of them eventually hits the micro jig at 20ft and i haul it in.... a small shiner.

the only really way to identify them is to catch one
