Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Everybody knows I love a nymph (the fishing kind!), so heres a few generic sorts. They have tails, heads and the stuff in between. Somebody will say, "Those are trout flies!"
Which could be so.
But, I'm betting the bluegill will tear em up.
Size 8's, fellas,

Thanks. I like the cartoonish effect, everything a bit exaggerated.

In future, there are some things Ill do different, but overall these came out as desired.

Indeed..Fly + Renegade thinking (out of the box) + Gozilla's-genetics = Frenetics.

Those are beautiful! Those look quite similar to the type of water scorpions we have here.

Thanks guys! These are just random efforts to attach all the pertinent parts.

Nothing tradtional here, either. Bill, heres the breakdown:

blue winged olive - Tied with olive roving abdomen, goose quill tail, orange roving thorax, wing case cut from a grey plastic trash bag.

Adams - Grey dubbing abdomen, wing case from trash tan bag,

pale morning dun - Grey red dubbing, olive marabou thorax, wing case from glitter polish!

Nothing normal here - just practice.

These are fish catchers for sure....all mayfly nymphs...left to right...blue winged olive, Adams, and a pale morning dun. Next batch try some peacock for the body overlay...3-4 strands gives it that green iridescent look. You are getting deep in the game here David, very nice
