Big Jim said the 2-pound test gig was pivotal for success. Although I am catching fish this year from several off-colored waters and 4 pound line, I have to agree that when I went to the 2-pound mono for the clearer lakes my numbers increased dramatically.

The fish above came from a crystal clear quarry not far from home. Without the 2-pound test SOS green mon I doubt that I would have caught much. Every body of water is different, that's what makes bluegill fishing both cool and challenging!

Do you blame them Sonny?  I mean no one is catching squat on the lake and here is this guy in a pontoon boat with his rod bent over constantly!  (They probably have no idea that you are using UL rods and 2 lb test either..)  But I understand, it bugs me too, especially when they put over their aluminum boat a huge chain anchor, and they are within casting distance!
