That Lamiglas looks so much like a Fenwick SP681 I have. It's cut down some, the rod is less than 5 feet long and it casts like a dream, using it with a tiny Bass Pro Shops underspin.
They still make those blanks, David - I'm building a bluegill specialty rod on one right now. They're unparalleled for live bait fishing - will cast a single redworm and Gapen panfish float, no split shot or other weight, thirty yards no problem.
THOUGHT SO and it must be one of the honey colored blanks they made for years .....Nice soft action for a spinning rod ......
Good eye David - it is a fiberglass rod, though not an old one. I made that rod on a 7' 3-weight Lamiglas fly rod blank.
Great shot and the fella in the front looks like he has a good one on too!!!!!! Is that an old glass rod he's using ?
You're right, Adam! We had several doubles that morning. They probably caught at least 30 bluegill and shellcracker in four hours of fishing; the bluegill averaged over a pound each, as did the shellcracker.
Great fish, and it looks like a fish on in the background too.
Supersized.
Great hen!
