Thanks Carl........I would say I land upwards of 75% of the side catches that hit on the telescopic gear.......I have 14 pound test on my "go to" pole and it's difficult to break, more often the hook will straighten on the largest fish............but we have caught more than a dozen bass over five pounds this year on this pole and line..........a landing net is a must because swinging these fish is out of the question.......

You ain't kidding Slip..........some times the predators will take it easy and others will blow it up and a violent hook set then hang on..........
