Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I know this isnt a big bluegill but I have been on a new quest, one for a potential record Jack fish, this one was 5 lbs and is my biggest so far!

this fish was about 30 inches...

How long was this great fish?My Biggest Piks (22-24")came on trolled Rapala and Bill Norman crankbaits(10-20') and sluggos @22' near bottom.

Local pickerel in here go for native golden shiners as a preferred forage. Gold Mepps spinners or gawdy, bronze or gold hairjigs get em.

i make my own lures just for river fishing here...its like a pike fishing style inline spinner but smaller...

Great fish , Kelly! Beautiful markings! Marylands Eastern Shore and Delaware annually produce 7 pounders, but I haven't ever heard of an eight. I like 'big snakes', as we call them. Boy, they sure can wreck a spinnerbait!

That is a nice chain pickeral!! You should come up here to Northern Minnesota, I could put you on some big pike! Great catch!
