Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Woke up to 14 degrees this morning. I agreed to wet a line after bribing myself....."If you clear the backside of two dams, you can go fishing"

Whaddya' know it worked!

Rough conditions, with the cold and the breeze. After every other cast I had to stop and break the ice from my rod guides, so the float stop knot would travel through without hanging up. Caught 26 fish, but could not get on the larger specimens. She was the biggest, at just over 9". The rest were 6-7 inchers. That's a Genz Fatboy hanging out of her mouth.

Nice gill, Tony! Those that are die hards are often rewarded with pleasent surprises. Congrats on your catch today.

John I started about noon, and fished until 3:30, when I needed to leave for another commitment.
