Just hours from dropping the big pickle on New Year's Eve the pregnant raccoon perch are staging for the January spawn.........never gets old.........also caught on the long poles......

Thanks Vinnie........hope to locate a few over the next few weeks............we have healthy populations in North Carolina but they are not designated a gamefish so commercial fisherman catch many in nets set ahead of the migration........

If it's not raining in the morning I've got a tough decision to make on tomorrow's fishing.........the trophy perch bite is also addictive as I've come to learn in recent years.........
