Actually, I myself have beaten this fish since then.

I should clarify--Dr. Morgan said at the time this fish was caught that it was the first "verified" three pound fish.  I'm sure Robbie has beat the stuffing out of this many times since. :)

I will somehow manage to fish there some day......oh yes, this is on my bucket list!

Thanks, Robbie.
I don't think there is much debate, really, on Richmond Mill. It is exactly what is intended: a sport fishing preserve, purposefully cut off from all that is detrimental to a fishery. After reading what the organizers and managers say about it, we can admit that.
What now becomes the goal is to visit there, each of us, and beat the stuffing out of Condellos record!

Love all this debate!  In 2012 me or my clients boated 9 bluegill at Richmond Mill over three pounds.  The biggest one being 3lb 5oz., 3- 3lb even, 3- 3lb 1 oz  and 2- 3lb 2oz.  We could have caught the same one a few times, but that's the beauty of catch and release!   This year is going to be crazy on big bluegills at King Fisher Society.  I had a trip about three weeks ago that was cold and windy with 49 degree water we boated 3- 2 1/2 lbers and 1- 2 3/4 lber.  Those fish should be near 3 1/2lbs. this spring when loaded with eggs.  Then last week my client Julia caught the 2 1/2lber(posted picture on here) in 46 degree water.  Can't wait to see them bluegills this spring!  Good Fishing!  Robbie

Tony, I'm thinking you're right. Feeding is the point, what I called "managed."
