This is not mine - these are pics of a DIFFERENT ONE I found on the web.
I needed some pics to send to the people who make replacement pontoons, to show what I was refurbishing. Everyone in the business makes a different sort of unit and it is hard to find replacement parts for things that are out of production, like this model. I wanted to have some pics for them to know just what I need.
What better place to put pics of something like this than at BBG?
The one I was given is fully functional and in usable condition, if not new. I dont trust the pontoon bladders, however. They hold air, but they slowly lose pressure after a day or two. There are no obvious leaks and I dont find any bubbles with the soap test. They may be okay, and its just something normal for them to deflate over time - I dunno. But, I've ordered new fill valves in case that is the problem. If the valves don' do it, I may be looking at new bladders and new fabric skins. Bladders are around $50 each and with skins, the cost is driven to $100 per side.
Even with that, I'm still in a good price position. The frame seat and everything else is as good as new, so nothing is needed there. Right now, Creek Company is selling their similar Classic XL for $225 shipped and that is about the lowest price Ive seen on any of these personal pontoons. New bladders and skins, even at new prices, will still have me as good as I can get.
I was thinking about a float tube, but I like this option better. It will be in the same price point range, sits higher out of the water, and has a bit more room. It will also fit in my truck bed without much trouble, and I only have to drive a few miles to get to my spots. For the flat water places I'll take it, it would be perfect
a free pontoon boat!! that's a good friend buddy!
