Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This is just some scraps thrown together... leftovers! I'm calling it an attractor pattern.

Hook... #8 light Aberdeen, barb mashed and eye bent.
Body... Olive Chenille
Tail... Red embroidery floss, olive marabou.
Hackle... Tan/brown
Bead... GLASS bronze 6/0

I used these Walmart glass beads to get a slow sink rate. These are for shallow water, where there is room to play a slow sinking pattern.
Actually, I don't know what the hell I'm talking about; it just sounds cool.

Thanks, fellas. Going by the comments, I'll put this in the trial box and see what happens.

Looks good!  Really close to a Soft Hackle.

I'd be interested in hearing about the body count, and how you fish it.

I hope you're right Leo. Right now I'm just experimenting, getting my tying rhythm down.
EVENTUALLY, I'll get all this stuff on the fish.
For now, I'm really digging the fly tying.

Looks like you got a winner for the late spring to early summer. If you present this near the weedline, you can count the bodies being hauled in. Report in. This is an interesting design that may be one of your top go to pattern.
