Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Forgot the bait.Kamlooper 1/8 oz spoon catches small Bass in NW cove by dirty fast running water pipe ...head to dam ,catch BG on Kamlooper and notice the West wind pushing water into a SE cove that is accesible from shore .Show up at SE shore to see BGills sunning themselves with their backs turned to the wind (humm that's odd ) Tie on a swedish pimple and swim with smalll jerks and get a few pecks...try a teeny Cicada blade bait on 2 lb test and wind blows it around ridiculously fast and fish ignore ...back to 4 lb.test and a Mister Twister white jig...catch 10" Crappie..a few more misses and I alternate Floating 3 of Jim Gronaws "Critter Jigs".It is then that I notice there are lots of Crappie holding below the sunning bGills and Sfish and are ready to go at it .Catch many Crappie and Gills few sf and small bass on 3 of Jims jigs (32nd oz and 64th) One is in a tree I gotta go back for with a retreiver. Finished up w/ one of my Blue Jay Feather jigs and after missing an interested Crappie sharpened the hook and caught three...had to go post this and then play guitar.

Your jigs were hot today Jim! Most fish were caught untipped .The ones that were tipped were caught on an added 1" white or Chartruese Twister tail .I didn't leave until I tried my bigger hook Blue Jay feather jig and found out three Crappie liked them .Had to book after that.
