The water is deceptively deeper than you would think flowing through the swamp.....This is one body of water that North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission has invoked a 10 inch minimum size restriction on Crappie and it's working...It was established in 2004 and now you can catch some really nice slabs on the Cashie....Some folks come in from across the state to fish for these slabs.......This river flows into the Albemarle Sound on the extreme western side....

Now that looks like crappie water if I ever saw any. Looks like a nice fishery of coarse I have no idea of the water depth by looking at the picture but it looks good.
