Do you love big bluegill?
This was the winning strategy this past weekend......getting in tight around these bushes that reached out into water from 4 to 8 feet deep.............

Good deal, maybe you will break your record this weekend :-) ... It also looks like a nice place to throw some popping bugs.
Indeed Bill ......this fish scape was formed during Hurricane Hazel back in the 50s........I've fished it nearly 20 years for some amazing days including my largest REDBREAST on the Albemarle........
Beautiful cover Jeffrey, looks like it was custom made to doodle a Telescopic rod in!
Hoping to get out to this creek system this weekend.........crappie will start pulling into this cover from deep creek channels nearby........this usually coincides with our cotton crop turning white next month.........throw in some moving water and this can be very predictable.......
Thanks guys.....an interesting location......the deepest water within 20 miles is in the center of this creek..........I catch bluegill and crappie every month of the year with technique changes depending on water temps.........you may see some dirty leaves in the green patches indicating our recent water event......it was down a couple feet this past weekend....normal levels are about 6 inches higher than what is pictured.........there is approximately a mile of this shore line with similar cover and it produces year after year...............
looks like a successful pattern of fishing
this just looks like a fish haven !!
Wow talk about fish magnets.
