Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Had fun....wound up with 17 before running out of crickets to tip with but that was the plan....All gills today were released......

Growing up in Louisiana really set the tone Jim.....I grew up a short bicycle ride from creeks and bayous that had good gill fishing.......A career in the submarine force took me to some great destinations and ultimately that's why I settled in Coastal North Carolina......Found this place in the 90s and the rest is history....Louisiana is Sportsman's Paradise but the Albemarle region of North Carolina is heaven on Earth for me.......

I fish it under a float Angelo....Jig with the soft plastic installed normally and thread on a cricket to the hook......Protein and color for presentation......It's a Spring and Summer slam bait for me....I do feel fortunate Jim...I don't take it for granted.....

You use a Pink Jig-head hook and with a live cricket on? Jigging the hook?
