This fish was caught around last year's Thunder Moon and I'm looking forward to the remainder of this July for some great action.....

This is the variation of the Gronaw Grass Shrimp jig that I was using when this gill hit.......Caught some amazing gills on these jigs......pink and olive were very productive too!

It has truly been one of my best bluegill seasons as the stars aligned often and emergent work didn't interfere as frequently.  I appreciated the opportunity to fish some of your unique baits this year Jim and this fish was a tribute to that.  The gill quality in Northeast N.C. and southeastern Virginia has not disappointed this year for sure. This continues to look promising for furture seasons and I'm excited already......Now it's time to try and figure out a few cold water gills in the mean time......

Even if you don't top it Jeffrey, you likely caught more 10-inch gills than all of us put together! Great fish!

I don't expect to top this gill this year and this was my largest of the year caught back in late July.....caught on a white/blue collar grass shrimp tied by Jim Gronaw.......Anything can happen though so I continue to fish......

Remember Tooty....those Silent Stingers have got to hold these big toads or you'll be sick when he pulls off....LOL

Here's a trophy gill Tim.....this is one with the height requirement that I love....I caught this fish on a homemade bait from member Jim Gronaw......

Thanks again Jim Gronaw for the Grass Shrimp Jigs.....The biggest one to date for me on the White one with the Blue Collar........Just a toad off the Pasquotank River.....In four feet of water at 81 degrees......
