Short rods for walking the banks roll casting the edges , Short rods are just fun to fish with . I own longer rods , but the shorter ones don’t seem to wear me out as much as the longer ones .  I just ordered a 8’3” 7wt Fenwick, why ? Because I found a almost half price deal on one . Would have preferred the 6’6” one ,  but it was $70 more . I plan on underlining it with a 6wt. bass taper line . It’ll be fished from a boat most likely . Gillchaser
