A Simple Bobby Garland Electric Chicken Scent Wiggl'r Modification

I purchase jig heads in large quantities to cut down the cost when possible.....Top one is a whole wiggl'r.....For gills on this one I take the first two body segments off as pictured...slide on your favorite colored jig and tip as desired....I do keep the bait as purchased for Crappie and Perch....

that colr works for me in southern illinois but up north here have never had a hit on it.brown olive black brown natural minnow colors.black chartreuse tubes used to be a good color for muddy water.

Bobby make a lot of good plastics.

I've done a LOT of reading about colors, patterns, etc.  "Electric Chicken", the pink/chartreuse combo, seems to work just about everywhere.  Variations in intensity of color, materials, and overall size also factor in.

However, once you find one that works for you in your area, stock up!  However, do not be afraid to try different things.  You might find an even more potent combination.

that color has worked for me in so illinois.up north here the more subtle colors are better.if its bass bluegills crappie etc.it must just represent a certain prey that does not exist up here.orange does seem to work tho but not as a solid color.just a touch of orange, out west they say the same about yellow

This type of soft plastic inspired me to work with the jig makers to create a product much more durable........I can go through a dozen or more of these tails in a warm water environment with active coppers.......but can catch 100s of fish on the Tabbert Jellys, Gronaw River Critters, Morgan Jigs, Tooty's Silents and Hendrix Rascals to name a few........This bait as pictured has produced 100 fish days outside of the spawn which is more defining in my opinion............

Biggest thing is to understand the water you're fishing and try some different things. What works in one place may not be the "go to bait" in another.....The hardest thing to do is to tie something new on when you're actively catching fish.....But I believe that the time is right when I know fish are biting......I will often pick up a different pole and throw a different bait in to see how the active fish react....Many times this has served to create another frenzy by the fish.....They get smart to the same bait if you will.....sometimes this may be as subtle as same jig little difference in color......It works for me in many locals

I also recycle the removed body segments both as a small jig and the round section as an egg tipper.....Just experiment and think outside the tackle box a little......
