This gillcracker was really dark. They were just starting to bed up.

Thanks Dick. Yeah we have a lot of these hybrids in the pond. A few years ago when we had to drain the pond and re-dig it, we ordered a hundred redears from a local fish supplier. Most of the fish we got were these redear hybrids. I wasn't there when the fish were delivered so I didn't know we got the wrong fish until I started fishing the pond and catching these.
