thnx guys  - we are very fortunate

This years wind is crazy Leo. Keeps me off the lake. Also paying the price with the jigs!!!!

Adam - still fishing the 2lb in all this mess. Worse day was 8 jigs - next was 5. All I'm using is the Belly Spinner - might try Autos , they're cheaper...

The prime areas may still be in the hidden area to the east of the Perris Lake. I ride my bike with my family around the perimeter to assess weekly. The spreading ground (hidden portion of the lake before the construction that only could be accessed by kayaks) is now fully submerged, with 5 to 21 FOW now. Perfect prime locations for bedding and large ones to find their realestates.

Dang!  That fish is a beast!

Awesome fish is right. Can't imagine the fight on UL tackle in deep water.

thnx Ken. What's amazing is I don't know what I'm doing! Every time I go out it's like fishing a new lake because of the rising water. Good thing I like to troll. Losing lots of jigs. I don't know how Bob does it - I know what kind of water he is fishing..

...awesome fish!! Congrats

Bob - been fishing transitional areas in 21 to 28 FOW. Catching pre & post spawn fish. Most of these areas are in hatch mode with lots of baitfish around. Trying to stay away from the flooded timber - lost too many jigs.

Right now it's like a kid in a candy factory!

Thnx for the comments guys

Finally get to fish an early season and it is really paying off.

Jeff - got back to back 2lbers on the 3rd and 4th and did it again on the 15th and the 16th. If you look close at the photos from the last 2 weeks there are 2 or 3 11" fish that might have gone 2lbs... Can you imagine what the evening bite is like!!!

CTS in my left arm is killing - have to quit holding up fish for pictures. Still waiting for them to clear the buoys of the dam. Those fish haven't been touched - yet.
