Thanks -

I am also adding depth and will begin digging new pond 4.0 in the next two weekends.

If they can't see it - they can't hunt it. I am pulling out all the stops.

Trip wire at the edges, hiding tubes and a motion sensor that will shoot it with water or anything that approaches the edge... I only want to see what I saw ONE time.

Johnny, You can contact you game dept, well at least here in Oklahoma and recieve scare shells. Kind of like a really large fire work in the form of a shotgun shell. Used mostly to scare off deer and geese from crops. Otta work on this critter!!!!

Well - I speak from experience, you can't ball bat them. I live in house with the tiniest yard with fences on all sides and overhanging tree between two garages my backyard sits underneath a bunch of phone wires running along the fence line.

My little yard might has well be West Berlin.

Well, there is this city heron that prefers man made ponds. I noticed one of my fish had been missing and I couldn't figure out what had happened to this one little white longfin koi.

I was looking for it for days.

Well, in the rain, I decided to make a trip around the back fence and I hear this woosh WOOSH WOOSH and this Pterodactyl comes out of my tiny pond and nearly knocks me out  of my shoes makes two wild giant turns to clear a fence and then takes off.

In its wake - read either destruction or a funeral for some friends - I see two stabbed fish dead as doornails, a fish that wasn't from my pond dead and one remaining fish stabbed clear through swimming in circles - dying.

I was devastated. Complete destruction of 9 Koi and a bunch of really nice Shabunkins  that I had owned for 6 years or so.

On top of all this- punctures in my pond bottom.

I was floored - literally - I was floored.

I tried to ambush the thing but they apparently have great hearing so good luck to you. I am thinking a snare and some tranq. darts (or a s34 oz. knock-out bump on the noggin) - I am just kidding. I think.

I have one of those crusing my ponds and creek. Fortunately, (glass half full?) they are territorial and there is only one.
