I see now these are most likely Creek Chubs I have been calling Fatheads .

So Allen are Creek Chubs and Fathead Minnows a different species?

Comment by Allen Morgan on June 3, 2018 at 5:42am

I've only found a couple places here to have a large population of Creek Chubs.  I can catch them for bait, but, MI laws forbid me from transporting that bait to a different BOW.  Unfortunately, the places I can catch these are not the places I usually fish.....

You read my mind Allen . The brook where these came from is between two lakes I have in mind .One is Shepherds and is where I've caught my two biggest Pickerel and it also has nice Bass. The other is Monksville Reservoir where I've caught one of my three or Four biggest Bass and only Musky.

Looks like bait to me.  Slip a 3/0 circle hook through the eye sockets (without piercing the eyes, if you can), tie a balloon onto the line a foot or two above the bait, and toss it out somewhere that screams "Bass" or "Pike".  Shouldn't take long....
