David I don't hold with any serpent the eyes was an accident, but I had a hand working for me several years ago in TX and he told me if I was to run into one of them to stay away from the sharp end.  Now that is just pretty good advice.

OUTSTANDING POPPER JOHN , WISH I FISHED FOR BASS ALMOST !!!!

The 6's I used were on larger poppers probably bass size.

Dick I too use a #8 hook on some of the popper I build for several reasons.  The main on is I seem to catch larger blue gills and if a smally hits it I have better chance of bringing it to the boat  I'm not sure if I have tied a #6 and what I could use it on except a small mouth but I have put them in the boat also.

John I used #8 and #6 kink shank hooks. I do have 2 sizes smaller poppers but I don't know if I can see them to tie them.

Dick what are you using those on I haven't used a hook that large yet I would assume they are for large mouth. would like to see some of them when finished.
