i spent alot of time on this lake ice fishing last year and noticed a light switch ON behavior at 16:00 especially with the gills also

thanks John... 12 mins before sunset at 16:49... our hands and feet were starting to feel it and we wanted to get in before dark. Earl said three more casts and hes calling it. i agreed and we nailed 2 crappies that made the slot for live well at 10 inches or under. so after the three casts were spent we started tidying the boat before heading to the launch. i noticed a little loop of line on one of my Ul rigs that i casted out to clear the loop... thats when i tagged the 13" er... caught on the 2" Berkeley Power Minnow in shad color on a 1/64 oz jig head. my popular bait of the day.

Thanks Jim... really tough enduring the cold late yesterday afternoon ... we stuck it out to about 28 degs and just as we were getting ready to leave the crappie bite started kicking in. lol
