thanks Jim...where the weeds turned brown and died off from the herbicide treatments were void of fish...found this island about the size of a small bedroom of submerged vegetation with a couple stumps in about 9 FOW ... the weeds were still bright green and about 4' high ... i drop shotted and slip floated next to it. i hit the Greeny Hybrid right away... i knew green sunfish Master Angler was set at 9" and this was close. it was about .6" shy. however like you say it was a hybrid and in Michigan that is 10" for citation.needless to say it had my heart pounding for a bit.
i will be out looking for more isolated weedbeds later on ... the lily pads were still holding some fish... i was surprised to see so many quality fish out of a small area... i saved the waypoint.

Nice job, Ken. That fish second one in on the lower left hand corner looks to be a naturalized hybrid...I'm thinking green sunfish X bluegill. Did you notice the strong fin edgings?
