Do you love big bluegill?
20150417- Weather conditions started out terrible than they got worse. Stiff northerly winds blew me off my spot at the bridge late morning so I decided to move to Ross Lake and caught two quick Smallmouths before a fleet of kayakers coming off the lake ruined the spot. Kayak was still loaded in the car so proceeded to head out to Kerswill Lake. Loaded up the Kayak and discovered I left the slip bobber rig and the vertical jig ice rod at home. Great! I get out to my spot and had about fifteen actual minutes of gentle breeze then the wind started kicking up from the ENE and gaining velocity by the minute till I gave up one small gill. Located some schools of gills and crappies in as little as a foot of water. Wish I had brought the fly rod.
Water temp was mid to upper fifties across the surface of the lake… looking at the long range forecast probably the last decent day till May … some nights mid 20’s
