Do you love big bluegill?
I spent yesterday fishing for a couple dinners for myself. so my theoretical slot limit for this lake is between 6.5 and 8 inches. caught 23 fish total 8 in the slot 4 over and 11 under. talking over the history of this lake with a local fisherman ... he said a few years back... he cant remember exactly what year ... there was a massive fish kill due to a herbicide overdose... nice... this probably explains why im having a difficult time with the 10 in mark
all caught on gulp pink maggots with slip bobber from 4 to 8 ft of water

We've done well on the Gulp red worms this season. In the past, I have done well with the Gulp 1 inch Minnows in Emerald shiner and Arkansas shiner patterns. Beats buying fathead minnows that die easily or else are good for one fish. I have caught 12 to 15 nice crappies on a single Gulp Alive 1" minnow before having to change.
I like what works, and I don't think too many of us are sponsored on this site. It's always good to hear what works throughout the nation for our favorite fish.
thanks guys
and sorry for sounding like a Gulp Alive salesman this past season! i start each fishing session with what has produced for me in the past and i end up 90% of the time with the gulp maggot especially pink. cant say enough about this product. has saved me a ton of money on crawlers.
good fishing
ken
Cool.....
Ya done real good Ken!
Tony it varies greatly especially during the summer at 47 acres and surrounded by farms very nutrient rich. plankton and algae blooms. yesterday was the clearest ive ever seen it. saw my anchor at the bottom at 6 ft. very calm like glass yesterday.the lake never thermoclined all summer and its max depth is at 28 ft. the association has provided about 12 aerators and apparently keeps the water well circulated and oxygenated. i read a dnr survey on the lake it was oxygen dead at below 10 ft.and aeration was recomended
Carl on a good note ive seen a 16 in class crappie taken out of there
bet there is one there Ken!!
Ken, what's the water clarity like in that BOW?
