Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Needed to tie something real quick for ice fishing that resembled a floating spider I used last spring

Built this lure and two others just like it in jan 2014 and put them in my ice box and never used them till yesterday. intended for ice fishing winter 2013-14... just never used them. what a great feeling catching your targets on your own creation... awesome feeling! now i appreciate what you guys are going through. making your own tackle.

Tied it like a foam spider but used chenille for the body and a 1/64 oz jig for the hook. Attached the legs like a simple foam spider tie. Was influenced heavily by a tan foam spider fly with insect legs that caught a 10 in male gill courting females into the nest, caught the male but the much larger female refused to hit top water. So i wanted to duplicate but with a jig and of course no foam. came back later to the nest with spinning gear gills were gone and a large bass was on the gravel pit. i believe i will catch that large female next year with this jig ha ha. through the rest of the month of June this tan spider produced like no other for me. orange was a close second

went on you tube on how to tie a foam spider and took off from there. <")))))><(
