Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Not as hot as using crawlers, but bringing these dinks just the same. Not tipping anything on the hook.

"No boat, no love, no large ones."

Sums up my situation.

Next February. They start spawning when the water temp start to raise up a bit after the winter season (74°F). They go back to the deep around late of June. Only the small fry remain.

When will the come back in so you can fill the freezer?

Comment by Leo Nguyen on August 4, 2013 at 6:46pm

Rick, we still have a freezer with a few left. We were hoping to fill the freezer back up. But, the larger ones that are in the 2+ lbs went back to the deeper areas. No boat, no love, no large ones.

LOL I don't want to be busted for introducing massive invasive species. It crossed my mind many time, but I don't want to be the guy that goes to prison.

The jig is incredible in so many different way. I wasn't able to test out the purple because we're being hammered by tiny size tilapia all over the place. We were counting 200+ caught in a few hours.
