Do you love big bluegill?
One of the Keeper Saugers that I caught this past Winter. I typically either used minnows under a float, or jigs with chartreuse grubs under a float. I did, however, tie up a spinner harness on a Lindy rig, and caught a couple on that. I preferred the float method, as I can let the rig drift in the current, slow-retrieve it just outside the current in slack water, then drag it back into the current to let it out again.

This past Winter was the first time I've targeted them. I've caught two years ago, trying to catch some White Bass. Once I realized these Sauger liked the cold water, I was able to fish all Winter long. First time I've done that.
Nice. Ive never seen a sauger or walleye in the flesh.
