Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

A streamer I tied a little while ago. Size 6, lead-wrapped hook shank, olive grizzly hackle twin tails (splayed out), natural deer hair over chartreuse deer hair over white deer hair. 3 strands chartreuse krystal flash (doubled over a couple times and cut), three strands of flashabou, and just enough red maribou at the throat to represent gills. I haven't tank-tested or fished it yet.

Well done Allen!

I got it in the water today.  I got a hit, on the surface, just after splashdown on the first cast.  The streamer didn't even have time to water-log and nose-dive.

OH BOY DO THESE STREAMERS LOOK GOOD IN THE WATER!!!

Now, I gotta get these in the river and try to catch some White bass.

I just had another idea.  I'm using a mono furled leader.  I may have to get my buddy to make one for me from flouro.

Of course, I may have to make a jig and furl my own leaders.....

allen when you tie identical flies of different weight a guy showed me a simple trick .use different color thread for the head on different weights.black no weight, red heavy weight, brown medium etc.keeps from weighing several in your hand to figure out which is which
