As far as the meat goes, You would think there would be an adverse affect in the molding process but I can honestly say it was the best eating Bluegill I think I ever had.
I didn't make the plaster mold very thick so it didn't heat up much. Maybe the plaster cleaned and sweetened fish somehow. It was skinned out right after molding and the fillets were put in the fridge. Two hours later and it was dinner, I tell you, It was fantastic with no ill effects.
I always dissect my specimens for my records and this bluegill was a healthy male and was feeding heavily on dragon fly larva.

Nice Tim! Hey how did you eat that meat after it was under the warm plaster as it was being molded? I would think that would spoil the meat, or at least partially cook it somewhat...
