Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Another awesome catch out of my friends pond in NC. I was so thankful to bask in the warm sun while catching some great fish!

Long and Slender ..... at least compared to the black crappies I am use to up north. If we get the privilege of catching and seeing a 14+ inch black crappie they are usually as tall as they are long... not to take anything away from this catch as I was ecstatic to catch it, but it didn't quite have the wow factor of the 14-15" black crappies I've seen....:)   I'll take a Tarheel gill or crappie any size any day tho, as it means I'm out fishing in one of my favorite places!

That's a beauty, Nathanael. Congratulations. It's what keeps us coming back.

Yes, we took a family trip to Florida to go to Disney World and had to stop and visit friends in NC on the way back to MN.  There was a cherry on that sunday with being able to fish my friends pond and catch a few...:)
